Repurpose Content You Already Have
Review past blogs you’ve written, past podcast episodes, even past infographics and carousels that you’ve shared on social media.
- Are they evergreen?
- Are they about a specific problem?
- Do they share tips that serve your audience?
- Could you record a video on that topic in a few minutes?
Create A Video
Use the blog or piece of content as a framework for creating a short video. It can be anywhere from 45 seconds if it has one short thought, or longer (5-10 min) if it has a few tips on one topic.
They key is to keep in concise. If it has more than one thought – make sure it’s something like 3 ways to xyz, 4 signs you are…, but it touches on ONE problem.
Use your phone, or Zoom or even Loom – whatever will make it easy. Just make sure to record horizontally (not vertical like a reel)
Create These Assets
From this video you are going to create…
- A YouTube video (optimized)
- An email to your list
- Social Media posts
YouTube Title – catchy but optimized with a keyword
YouTube Description – the longer the better, we use an intro paragraph, bullets of what they will learn, time stamps (to activate the chapters – which helps people jump to the spot they want to hear and interact with the video) and call to actions underneath (information about you, free resources etc)
YouTube Thumbnail – make sure it’s optimized and the title shares what the audience will gain from watching (it can be different from the actual video title by the way)
Email Copy – share the message with your list, entice them to click and watch. Link to your YouTube video so that you push traffic to YouTube and activate the algorithm and views. Feel free to have a call to action at the bottom of the email or offer or free resource!
Send the email again the next day (just change the subject line) to those that did not open – you’ll boost opens- guaranteed.
Send this type of nurture email every week, same day each week. People start to expect it, and know that you aren’t only sending promo emails when you need something. It’s a personal message from you. You can even create a gif in the email as a preview of the video if you want to get fancy – to create movement and get their attention.
Repurpose The Video For Social Media
Create Video Clips – select juicy nuggets of info from the video to create short square videos for Facebook and LinkedIn (these can be meatier – 45-90 seconds). Create shorts and reels.
Be sure to have captions on the videos so that they are more engaging, stop the scroll and get more watches.
I find headlines on the videos are super helpful. They tease what the video is about to grab people’s attention to watch.
Create Engaging Copy For The Video Clips – To entice people to watch you’ll want great copy that connects with your audience and gives them a reason to watch. Do not simply re-iterate what is already in the video clip. You need ‘watch time’ and want them to watch to the end.
Use hashtags that are relevant to help attract new viewers.
Use call to actions to watch the whole video (and direct them to the video in YouTube to boost watch time). This will boost your stats in YouTube and grow your watch time, subscribers and ability to monetize
Use call to actions to give them a free resource that makes sense for that content (ie a great next step). In other words – use your content to meet your goals, to grow your list, to fill your calendar, and fill your programs.
A great way to do this is using a DM strategy also – ie Type PAYOFF in the comments and I’ll send you my resource 3 Strategies To Leverage & Repurpose Your Guest Interviews to Boost Authority, Visibility, Leads & Clients. Then you have a chance to DM them the opt in page and follow up with them, start a conversation, a relationship.
Are you repurposing & leveraging the podcasts you guest on – or are you leaving money on the table?
When used right, your podcast interviews should give you a ton of juicy content that will help you attract and convert your ideal client. It should help give you oodles of consistent content, help you be more visible, showcase your authority, grow your list, build an audience and generate clients.
BUT simply posting that a show is live is NOT enough. You need to be STRATEGIC and CONSISTENT.
We are looking for 2 podcast guests who are running six figure businesses who know their audience and want to be more visible and attract their ideal clients faster with consumable repurposed content. The best part – it’s DONE FOR YOU without any headaches or delays.
